The hidden risk
Soft drape is a fabric behavior, not a fiber label. Viscose direction, Tencel direction, and modal-direction fabrics drape differently — but they're often sold interchangeably by stock houses because the fiber name sounds similar.
How to judge
Test the swatch in motion, on a bias cut. If it flows in waves, soft drape. If it pools, too fluid. If it holds a shape, too crisp.
What the supplier must provide
Sell drape by behavior, not by fiber name — 'viscose direction' is honest, 'viscose' is not.
